Project Brief
Project Brief
The Women’s Networking Event was a client-facing initiative hosted by Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP’s Calgary office, bringing together women lawyers and clients to connect, celebrate, and honor women in the legal industry. The event aimed to create a welcoming and memorable experience that balanced Blakes’ professional brand with a warm, conversational atmosphere.
This project marked my first large-scale design assignment during my initial term at Blakes, where I supported the Creative Services team from early ideation through key digital and event-facing deliverables.

Ideation & Concept
Ideation & Concept
During the brainstorming phase, I contributed to shaping the overall creative direction and visual theme. The concept, “An Amalfi Escape,” was inspired by the charm of the Amalfi Coast in Italy — drawing on elements of warmth, elegance, and relaxed sophistication. The goal was to evoke a sense of escape and connection, while maintaining a polished tone appropriate for a professional networking event.
My role focused on developing the foundational visual system, including the event concept, color palette, typography direction, and key digital touchpoints. I designed the email banner, event mobile & landing page, and supporting website visuals that set the tone and established consistency across communications.
While the Calgary office collaborated with an external agency for on-site materials such as signages and menu, I’m proud to have contributed to the core visual identity that guided the overall look and feel of the event.

Final Design
The final design blended bright Mediterranean colors, lemon motifs, and soft textures with Blakes’ brand elements to create a visual language that felt inviting yet refined. The digital assets helped introduce the event narrative, engage recipients through email and web, and communicate the event’s purpose clearly to attendees.

This project was a meaningful learning experience and an important milestone in my growth as a designer. It strengthened my confidence in contributing to large-scale, client-facing work and reinforced the importance of collaboration, adaptability, and clarity when working within established brand systems. Most importantly, it reminded me that even foundational design decisions play a critical role in shaping how people experience and connect at an event.
